So it's not the same Bread Basked you went to as a kid.....and that sucks, I know. I remember going here when I was 5 years old, and the neighborhood was different, and everything was different too. But times change...shrug. But the place still satisfies, even though the menu is the same, the food is still good. It is not nearly as busy as it used to be, but you can still get an 18 1/2 so I am happy. If you are looking for a big menu with decent deli food, you found your place.

This place has seen better days, pretty shabby, but still had good food - I would just take it to go - the pickles and sandwiches are 4, maybe even 5 stars, but the joint is a 1 on appearance and 2 on service.

Help: desperate for deli. Well, I finally tried the Bread Basket Deli in Oak Park. What can I say? Is there no decent deli in southeast Michigan? Bupkes?!!! Oy! In Illinois, particularly the corridor stretching from Skokie to Buffalo Grove, great deli I can find. Even in the vast blandness of L.A., I could find great deli. Of course, in NYC, even a pisher can find great deli. Anyway, on to the review; for starters, I shared a bowl of matzoh ball soup with my boychik; so far, so good. I'm thinking, maybe we finally hit the jackpot after several busts. Then my heart sank with my first bite into a chopped liver sandwich. The portion was huge, but what little flavor there was... let's just say eating Crisco shortening straight from the can is the closest analogy I can make in terms of both flavor and mouth-feel. My wife said her veggie sandwich was nothing to write home about, either. The ambience was about as appealing as the chopped liver. Given the other, generally good reviews, I will probably give Bread Basket one more try, just to be sure. So, I've tried the Stage, Siegel's, Vineyards, and now Bread Basket to no avail. Please, if anybody knows where I can find truly excellent deli in southeast MI, drop me a line.

The quality has gone down the tubes. Corn beef was horrible. I'm so disappointed with this location. I've been craving a corn beef sandwich for years and to fly al the way from Florida and get the crap they are serving is just wrong. I'm going to look at the reviews for the other locations and give it one more try. I will post a review for the next location.

Let's talk about productive accidents. Today, in effort to change my residence to Oakland County, I went to the Secretary of State in Oak Park. After walking in I discovered a line that was 45 people long to get a number and sit and wait. This was not going to do it for me. Meanwhile, in the back of my head, was the mouthwatering delight of the Bread Basket. As I drove into the complex, and though my windows were up, I either smelled or imagined the aroma of the delicious corned beef...at it was glorious! Needless to say, I didn't even wait to get there and called ahead from across the parking lot to order my Corned Beef on grilled rye with Russian dressing and slaw. Giddy up! As I walked into the BB five anguishing minutes later, I was already doing my best impression of the dog from Turner and Hooch. It was game time and I knew it. It may have been the look of eager desperation on my face, or the fact that I said, "Corned beef sandwich for Tom," but the lovely and honorable duchess of deliciousness behind the counter had mine ready to go. I had to drive home, as there is no eating this one in the car, and barely made it without gnawing through the bag. When I arrived home I broke into the butcher paper that wraps the sandwich, and like a fine wine, let it breath. Fortunately, the Bread Basket understands this and includes delicious pickle spears. By the time you're done with one or two of those, the delicious CB is ready to go. You know, as you lock eyes on your opponent, that it's unlikely you'll finish it. The sandwich must way 2 lbs. At it's center, you're literally looking at 2 inches of freshly shaved and grilled corned beef. It is perfectly layered with delicious slaw and Russian, and you lose any conscious worry about how you're going to dislocate your jaw to begin. You just do it. And when you're finished, you sit back, try and control the Alien like feeling that something is about to protrude from your belly, and holler with as much air as you can muster, "ROMA VICTOR!!!" As you have truly conquered the unconquerable. The long short, I don't care what anyone says, the BB is still as good as ever. I haven't had a BB Corned Beef on Rye in over three years, and it was as good as ever. This place does sandwiches better than anyone, and is well worth the premium you pay. So...fast for a few days, drink a lot of water a few hours before to stretch the belly back out, get in there, and do your service to the local economy....and enjoy every wonderful bite of it!

This is my first time eating this.. so my review goes as... If you like MEAT, I guess you cannot not like this place. Sure the inside isn't all nice or anything but who cares... the food is good and that is all it matters. my eyes open wide up when I saw how much meat there was.. completely didn't expect that. After the initial shock, I dive in and wouldn't stop eating. Even though I ate half of it, I really wanted to eat it all. But just couldn't.. (not as much of a food garbage as I used to be.. ) One thing I would say is, I wouldn't eat here often.. because I would probably have health issues of the quantity of food and red meat. =) It did took a while to get our order in, but is okay.. I am not THAT picky on little stuff.

Did I miss something? The corned beef was dry and lacked taste, my Potato Latke was over cooked and they did not have any ginger ale! As I sat waiting for my food I saw them slicing corned beef none stop which is why it is was dry! My wife ordered the Matzoh Ball soup, the Matzoh ball was the size of a soft ball and looked old and dry also, she said it was OK. Her corned beef look better then mine. I normal get Pastrami but was told that the lean corned beef was better! I'm not a fan! Remember to eat well and live well! And please no chains!

Another road trip with my buddy Jac. I was jonesin for a corned beef sandwich. The downside to that was that I was living in Ohio. Toledo to be exact, and as we all know Toledo has no Jewish food. There are synagogues but no good food. You can't even get a real knish. I was telling my friend and dispatcher Jac about this. We decided to do yet another road trip. This time I insisted on driving. I was hungry and didn't want to tolerate his rotten driving, and plus being from Toledo, he has no clue about Detroit, let alone Oak Park. I made it in 50 minutes. We got the corned beef on rye, pickles and lots of mustard. The sandwiches were huge, and Jac was amazed at the size of them. I had been there before learning of this place from my stepfather. Perhaps the only good thing he had ever done. BB has everything you would want. Chicken soup, kreplachs, knishes that are really good. There are good ones and then there are the ones that pass as doorstops. Actually a doorstop would be tastier than some ill made knishes. But go for the corned beef and the reubens. DO NOT ORDER IT ON WHITE BREAD. You cannot have a good corned beef on white. and don't forget the pickle. Ordering a corned beef on white is akin to Pat Boone singing Tutti Frutti. Painful. Painful in spades. Jac agreed that I knew what I was talking about. Later he showed his appreciation in a more tangible manner. He sent me to Pittsburgh, roughly a 600 dollar fare. There is a good thing about treating your dispatcher well. Oh, and I did get a new Star of David at Borensteins down the street..

SO DISAPPOINTING! Bread Basket has really gone downhill since R. Forman sold it. Corned Beef is inconsistent-dry one day, greasy the next. Pastrami, not exactly the leanest of cuts, looked more like bacon than beef. I was feeling ill the other day and was looking for some good ol' Jewish Penicillin-i.e. Matzoh Ball soup. What did I get? A stark yellow salty vaguely chicken-tasting broth, obviously fortified with bullion. The matzoh balls were rubbery and tasteless. The bread is often doughy and undercooked all the way through, the service stinks, they nickel-and-dime you to death, the decor is dingy (hasn't changed-EVER) and generally unappetizing. Sad to say, seeing as this was a family favorite for many, many years. From now on I'll shlep across town Star Deli in order to get my deli fix.

Do like meat piles? Yea me too. And apparently so do the people of the Bread Basket. It's pretty much unreasonable- the amount of meat that is. However, all the corned beef is pretty darn good and you can't beat the price with a stick. But be prepared for a food coma and some bizarre desire for fasting and working out right afterwards. Also, don't bother with the french fries or the pickles, but still totally worth it.

I have been raving about their corned beef for years. In fact, after being a vegetarian for more than a decade, it was Bread Basket's corned beef that was my return to eating cow. So I am used to the tired diner decor, but the service last weekend was absolutely terrible. The place was almost empty, and there were lots of servers, but nobody could take our order. It became almost comic. Then we ordered a loaf of bread for carryout and this seemed to add about 15 minutes to our wait to leave. One would think a loaf of bread would be quick. My guess is there has been a change in ownership. I hope they work out the kinks. In the meantime, call ahead and get carryout. The 17 1/2 (corned beef on rye, with cole slaw, swiss cheese and russian dressing is my standby. It's more than enough for 2 people. I also love the fresh dills they bring to the table. Good food.

The BBD is THE ONLY place to get corned beef in ALL OF MICHIGAN!!!! TRUST ME!! I have deli meat running through my veins...... really. You will not find another place around with the size and quality of a Bread Basket Sandi. From the Corned Beef to the Pastrami...you can't go wrong at this place. Plus, you can get extras like Matzoh Ball soup, Potato Latkes and Cheese Blintzes that are at best hard to find in other deli's. Nothing tempts my inner fat kid like a big giant Bread Basket Reuben on a grilled onion roll but the true gem on the menu is the BB Special with house dressing. You might be wondering why anyone would order a salad at a deli but trust me, with a mountain of corned beef, turkey and swiss cheese tossed in their house made creamy garlic dressing....there's no way you'll miss the bread! WORD TO THE WISE: prepare yourself for great food but don't expect much in the way of service. The Bread Basket is know for good food...not good service. Look at it this way though, I gave it 5 stars even with crappy waitresses so you know it must be good!

Looking for a hearty jewish deli with food that will stick to your bones? This is it. Instead of reaching for that gallon of ice cream when you're down, come here. Get some of bubbie's comfort food and you'll feel better.

Wow this place is great. I only got take out, but it was good. The old pickles are not to be missed. The kid size corned beef was big enough for me. It was mountain even as the small. Best corned beef sandwich in a while.

  • Richard F.

What it lacks in atmosphere it makes up for in sheer corned beef appeal and size of portions. The place looks like it hasn't been redecorated since the '40s and perhaps it hasn't had a good cleaning since then either. But the corned beef and other NY style deli sandwiches are really good. Even the pickle plate was the real deal including pickled tomatoes. The rye bread was great too, but the rolls which are an extra charge were not so great.

Try the western corned beef sandwich, AWESOME!!!!

  • WILLIAM N.

My first time there yesterday. It was great! My only complaint would be a little more meat on the sandwiches. Just a little dive, they food was great except for my complaint, and the service was on the ball. But the place was empty also so it could change. From a burger, to pastrami, to corned beef, it was all great!

Oak Park's Bread Basket Deli is definitely one of those restaurants that, when not in Michigan for a bit you really start missing. Located on Greenfield this traditional deli serves up everything form your classic corned beef on rye and pastrami. In addition, to classic deli sandwiches this staple deli offers diners a great selection of Eastern European dishes like crisp, apple potato latkes, beer based borscht(say that fast 10 times), and matzo ball. soup. The service is always quick, like a deli should be, but attentive. The food is always consistently tasty and the potato pancakes are to die for, a perfect combo of crunchy, starchy potatoes and sweet apples. If you're looking for an authentic deli experience in Metro Detroit make a visit to Oak Park and check out the Bread Basket Deli.

Anytime I can order a sandwich, get full off one half, and then eat the other half the next day for lunch... I'm a fan. The sandwiches are filled with meat...sometimes too much, and I have to take some out. Check out the corned beef, of course, and I would also suggest crisp, apple-sauced potato latkes. The prices are a little higher than your normal deli, but you are getting twice the amount of meat... so I think it's worth it.

Used to be much better. I was brought up eating from Bread Basket. The new owners suck! They're driving it into the ground and it's very unfortunate. I would order carry-out, because it's too depressing to actually eat inside. I hope it still tastes the same and will be around. So sad...

  • Nikki T.

I got hooked on The Bread Basket when I was pregnant. Forget the sandwiches! It was all about the PICKLES!! What can I say, I was pregnant. Back to reality, the sandwiches are definitely worth the price and they are delicious. I've never understood why corn beef sandwiches come with so much meat but I'm certainly not complaining. My favorite is a corn beef with just Swiss and mustard. I like stopping in for lunch so I can eat the other half for dinner. I will say if it weren't for the sandwiches I wouldn't be so enthusiastic about the Basket. Service has gone down over the years and it's not the most appealing as far as environment. But I always get carry out so I don't stay bummed too long!

What the hell happened to this place?! I remember being 4 years old and crying for Bread Basket's chicken noodle soup after coming out of eye surgery. I remember devouring the famous BB salads, turkey and corned beef sandwiches, wonderful steak fries, and their unmatched knishes. Seriously, what the hell happened? The place is a dump inside, and the food is really sloppily prepared. Worse, there are no breaks on the prices. My last trip (maybe final?) I had some over-greased yam fries and a shell-filled egg salad sandwich. The place seems to have lost its verve and some of its loyal following. It seemed to be going downhill before changing ownership, but the course is hardly being reversed. Sure, eat here, only if you are a tastebud-less sentimentalist. Otherwise, get in your car and drive to the Stage.

Let me start by saying I lived in Oak Park for many years and this was by far the BEST deli... I was 17 when I started going there and now I'm 54 so I get a lot can change in all that time... But still we went there the other day and I got my fav the B&B special which is a salad with corned beef turkey Swiss cheese and eggs and tomatoes it use to be a nice size salad considering it cost about 9 dollars which I don't mind if you get a nice amount... I didn't the garlic dressing is still good and so is the bread

I met with my real estate agent and broker for closing on my house. This place used to be fantastic but is now over rated and kind of gross.

If you love corned beef or have never had it this is the ultimate mecca of corned beef. WARNING The sandwiches are huge, which is a good thing! Excellent quality meat, great bread, friendly staff... there's nothing not to love about this place. Also this is the original Bread Basket, there are a lot of rip offs in the area of the same name but I promise if you go here you'll notice the difference. Happy Eating!

Truth is, this is my favorite Deli in all of America, I have talked about it all over the country... I ate here a few weeks ago, and had another wonderful experience, great food (my favorite is the 17 1/2 grilled on pumpernickel)(maybe the best deli sandwich ever constructed) I have been dining here on and off for nearly 20 years... Why one star you ask? The cook behind the counter who is so self impressed that he was casting hateful insults to his other kitchen mates and his waitress constantly the entire time we were there... These were not insults in good humor! You sir are un embarrassment to all men! He must be someones son, who hates his life, and is trying to project and spread that hate amongst everyone there, If you own this place and this is your son, do yourself a favor and pay him to stay home! Funny thing is our service was amazing! Sadly we were in earshot of the kitchen so it sullied the entire experience! Where will I find deli nirvana now?

For many years, I firmly believed that this was the best deli in Metro Detroit. I argued that point to anyone who would listen. I used to take out-of-town visitors there to experience the food. All, including those from the East coast, were impressed. Now, it's just mediocre. I wouldn't dissuade anyone from eating there, but it's no longer worth a trip on its own.

This is the original Bread Basket, and it has been around for years -- like at least 30 years. It has undergone drastic change during those years and is not as good and is way more expensive than it used to be. It always used to be packed at all times, with a long line, and they wouldn't seat you until your entire party was there. Now, it's virtually empty. That said, the food is still pretty darn good. They've realized that $10 is too much for a sandwich -- and that it is just too big -- so they now have the option of the regular large or a smaller one. I got a small corned beef on rye to go. It is still plenty big. And at just under $6, I believe it is the cheapest deli sandwich of good quality that you can find. The corned beef may not be as good as it once was (but then again, what is?), but it's much better than that of many other places. And their rye bread is still hands-down the best -- nice, hard crust and a substantial, chewy center. It's worth a trip just for that! True, it is not the Bread Basket (or, way before that, the Nosherie) of days gone by, but it is still worth checking out.

When your food is superb but the inside needs some updates and the lady taking the orders is super rude. 3 stars is appropriate.

  • Joel A.

I am just updating this place. Although I said previously I like the other Bread Baskets better, such is not the case anymore. I was at the one on Gratiot, and if all the other ones are following suit, I will not be back. Sandwich was small, and they are not using the good rye, and the pickles are different. Apparently Al decided to sacrifice Quality for Quantity. Sad. I will now only be going to the Bread Basket at Lincoln Center. Plus I found a new Barber right next to it. So from now on it will be, Haircut and a Corned Beef on rye from Bread basket. It is the Original after all. LOL

  • Julian B.

Used to be the best corned beef in Metro Detroit. Not anymore for varied reasons but the main is quality and shrinking sandwiches. I hate whn a great spot fades. Has progressively gone down hill the past 9 years. It is ok but Im done eating here because all I will think of is what was...plus there is a female who always works the register who is one of the most unfriendly workers Ive ever had the displeasure to meet. And shes always there. I think shes related to the owner. Stopped going there partially due to her. Usually I dont get caught up in service like some Yelpers.

The Bread Basket doesn't look like much from the outside, but it definitely has some great sandwiches. I feel like I'm sort of a sandwich snob, after being spoiled by living within a mile or two of Zingerman's in Ann Arbor. But, the Bread Basket's reuben is great. I ordered the small size and could barely finish it! My boyfriend got the club sandwich and he basically ate it before I could even ask how it was. He said that the turkey reuben with coleslaw is delicious as well. The servers were decently friendly and the food came out really fast. It was pretty warm in there, too, and for some reason it felt slightly dirty. I liked both of the pickles they give you, especially the older style. It tastes a little like sauerkraut, but in a good way. If I am ever near the area again, I certainly wouldn't hesitate to stop in!

  • Craig M.

It's unanimous... The Bread Basket Deli gets a 5-star from my entire lunch posse (including the non-yelping members). For me it was the Pastrami & Swiss on Rye with Russian (well really Thousand Island, but I can't hold that against them). The Pastrami had the PERFECT balance of tenderness and spice. Tasty without being overly peppered. The Rye bread was tasty and a good consistency to stand up to the moist Pastrami. Swiss Cheese looked hand sliced and was delicious. Others have raved about their soups... I don't know if I'll ever get their because the single sandwich was all I could handle. No need for a side dish beyond a pickle. It took me a couple hours to revive from the food comma. Good find Rodger W!

Note: This review is based on Bread Baset Deli circa 1990-2000. I have been a vegetarian for a good nine years, but still have cravings for a United Meat on rye... with 'old' pickles. It saddens me to see the weary reviews given recently... If nothing more, the new owners should revert back to the delicious big-as-your-head sandwiches and get their act together-- the food here was amaaaazing back in the day.

LOVE LOVE LOVE, This place I always go for the corned beef and pastrami on rye, W/ spicy mustard, and they're mostly cucumber pickles are delish, so i always order extra. Any who love this deli and they only serve Michigan made products, like Faygo pop and Better Made chips. This deli is all about Michigan so c'mon and check it out. there are other Bread Baskets throughout the Detroit metro area I haven't been to those but I'm sure they're just as good.

I'm always excited to come back home to go to these types of places that I miss and this is one that doesn't disappoint. I don't know much about the menu other than corned beef sandwiches, fries, coleslaw and new dill pickles. Other than those items I have no idea what they have and to be honest I'm not interested in finding out. The sandwiches are huge and delicious and this is the only place I've ever been that serves new dill pickles like this and I love them. On my list of favorites when I come home for years to come I hope.

Sandwichs as big as your face. Excellent corned beef and bread. A lot of fond memories going here with my grandparents + my next door neighbor used to be a waitress here so I always used to get hooked up with extra pickles.

So far in my travels, the best Jewish deli in the Detroit Area. Notice I said Jewish and not Kosher, as most delis mix meat and dairy in yummy concoctions like Reubens. Having experienced very tasty Kosher establishments in Chicago like Romanian Sausage, I prefer the less strict Reuben slinging establishments. The food (see photos). Mmmmm. I tasted my buddy's Mushroom Barley soup and was mighty impressed. Thick and flavorful, it was loaded with mushrooms that were clearly not from a can. I had a Reuben that was amazing. Compared to the Star and Siegels versions, the Bread Basket example was larger, used better corned beef, and was perfectly grilled. I ate half, and took half home. My buddy had a United Meat, a corned beef and pastrami combo which looked delicious. It was even larger than the Reuben, and was served on a most delicious looking Onion Roll. I also had a huge scoop of potato salad. Price wise, my Reuben was $8.49 and the United Meat was $8.99. That's about the same price as Star and Siegels, but about half the price of a Zingermans equivalent. Previous reviewers commented on poor service. Upon arrival I was provided a pickle plate with both old and new pickles by a young Russian waitress, who was very prompt and friendly throughout the visit. The owners came by a few times to check on us and were warm and friendly. Excellent service. Yes, the strip mall location may not appeal to hipsters or Craig M, but I come to Jewish delis to eat, not critique the china pattern, flatware or furniture. Bread Basket is a winner!

Aw yeah, I get to be the first person to review Bread Basket! I am a huge deli fanatic, and I think that Bread Basket has better corned beef than any place in the United States. Yeah, I've been to all the known NY delis, so unless you have some secret deli in a garage, scram. I am more of a pastrami kind of guy, but this corned beef is out of control. Super tender, the right amount of fat, I am going crazy just thinking about it (I currently reside in San Francisco, AKA deli wasteland). There is a deli slicer going nonstop slicing this corned beef all day, and the guys keep bringing in the giant whole briskets from the back (never saw what was going on back there, but let's not ruin the magic). The other deli meats, while not superlative like the corned beef, are all excellent. Pastrami, brisket, tongue (hot and cold), it's all good. The bread here is also wonderful, thick cut light rye with a substantial crust. Dense crumb to hold up against the giant amount of meat wedged between. In terms of size, we're talking Carnegie ballpark (not the triple decker parody shit, but the regular Carnegie sandwiches; as an aside, even though Carnegie is a tourist trap, their pastrami is still pretty damn good). This sandwich does not mess around. The pickles here are great as well, both half and full sours (or new and old, whatever your nomenclature). One warning is that this place is not kosher (I seem to recall a chicken salad sandwich with bacon on top). Also, the establishment is not Jewish owned, if that matters to you (former owners sold to longtime employees). In addition, some deli fanatics will faint at the sight of a corned beef sandwich on WHITE bread with LETTUCE (can't remember the name of the sandwich, Dinty Moore?). I know, I know, just don't order that sandwich and get the good stuff. Finally, the best sandwich here, IMHO, is the #17, which is corned beef with cole slaw and Russian dressing. Yeah, I'm familiar with the debate of Russian dressing on deli sandwiches and all the mustard lovers' hate talk and the purists crying about anything but meat on the sandwich, but seriously, this sandwich makes me say, "Yowza!" In short, Bread Basket fucking rules! I can attribute about two inches on my waist to their grub.

The sandwhiches here are stupid big. Plus you can order the pastrami cut lean which is the way to go. If you want a nice clean friendly eating experience then go some place else. If you want great food come here.

So I didn't order ahead because I was driving by at about 11:35am. You can tell they do an insanely busy lunch carry-out business from the number of calls that came in when I waited for my order to be made. Even though I only waited about 7-8 minutes for my order it WAS still early, so I would highly recommend calling your order in or you may have to wait a while. Bear in mind that they are NOT cheap, more along the lines of $10 for a sandwich, but it is high quality meats and breads so it is worth it if you have the extra cash to spend.I don't think I would want to spend that type of cash on lunch every day but once a week would be fine. Anywho, I ordered a corned beef with swiss on an onion roll and a 3-layer Tuna. To be honest I wasn't quite sure what 3-layer tuna meant and the lady was WAY to busy to lend her time, so I just ordered it. Too much bread on the Tuna - all the 3 layers were = Bread. However, the tuna was nice solid white albacore, so that was nice. But it had tons of celery in it, so if you're not big on celery I wouldn't order the tune from there. The corned beef I bought for our security guard and he said it absolutely fabulous. For a $1 up-charge they give you lean cuts of meats which is great for me since I'm very picky. I might even order actual meat of some sort next time, lean of course. I look forward to taking more time to peruse the menu online and call in my order rather than picking on the fly. I'm sure the other items will be great.

Last week I flew into Detroit for my Mom's 75th Birthday. I grew up in a suburb of Detroit and always looked forward to going to Sunday bunch at The Bread Basket Deli with my family. I was so sad to learn how GHETTO this place has become. I remember it thriving and always being busy with lots of delicious foods to choose from. Unfortunately, this place should probably be shut down or bought out. I came in and asked to order 6 bagels thinking it's a Deli and it's called 'BREAD BASKET DELI', the woman who was at the counter barely wanted to speak to me and when I asked for bagels, She said:"Those are for our customers!" WHAT AM I??? She said two times we can't sell you those or we won't have any to give to our customers that come in!!!! I asked if I could get some White Fish salad, she said we never sell that here? REALLY? Because I have ordered it there many times in the past. A man from the back, I assumed he was a Cook, came out and yelled at her in front of me and told her to sell me the bagels. She still disagreed and refused to sell them to me. It just kept on getting worse. She said go to a bagel deli and get that stuff. By the way, the floor was a mess, there was food all over the place. VERY DIRTY! I am still in shock and feel very sad to see what has happened to a staple restaurant that use to be a family favorite.

BBD was okay.... I'm not a huge..."pile as much meat between two pieces of bread" kinda girl, I'll usually order a turkey, or chicken number with more veggies on it. Today I went out of the norm and ordered a #18&1/2 - which was roast beef, on rye, with swiss cheese, coleslaw, and russian dressing.. It wasn't bad... It wasn't KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF fabulous... I added more dressing to it, as it seemed a little dry... I might try something else here the next time I go....if there is a next time.

Looking for a hearty jewish deli with food that will stick to your bones? This is it. Instead of reaching for that gallon of ice cream when you're down, come here. Get some of bubbie's comfort food and you'll feel better.

My first time there yesterday. It was great! My only complaint would be a little more meat on the sandwiches. Just a little dive, they food was great except for my complaint, and the service was on the ball. But the place was empty also so it could change. From a burger, to pastrami, to corned beef, it was all great!

This place has seen better days, pretty shabby, but still had good food - I would just take it to go - the pickles and sandwiches are 4, maybe even 5 stars, but the joint is a 1 on appearance and 2 on service.

LOL

Good food.

So sad...
